Featuring the musical stylings and acting debut of iwrestledabearonce, the horror-comedy A Beary Scary Movie follows the tale of Shreddy – the deranged guitarist from legendary 80’s hair metal band White Vulture – who comes straight from hell murdering bands one by one by hacking them to pieces. CREATING SOMETHING SCARY...

"A Beary Scary Movie' started production in the summer of 2011. After working with Beasley for 2 music videos, iwrestledabearonce and Century Media decided to take their performances and online viral marketing a next step further by doing a larger story together. The movie essentially became a spoof horror comedy of 'A Nightmare on Elm Street'. Written and Directed by Justin Beasley, the project would put the band on tour and a mysterious killer known as Shreddy was killing other bands one by one.

With a limited budget, the production value was key to the success of the film. Hiring key figures in the film industry, the film was able to be shot over a 2 week period in North Carolina.

Behind The Scenes Look

It was one of the hottest summers in North Carolina, with 2 weeks to shoot an entire feature film, it took a lot of incredibly hard work from Makeup Artists, Production Designers, and the Cast to pull it all off with no problems. Beasley was successful in getting his vision and keeping everything on track.

"A Beary Scary Movie is without a doubt the best metal-themed film I've ever seen."

Scooby Doo meets Nightmare On Elm Street

The film from the start was encompassing the quirky over the top nature of the band and the directors love to push boundaries. Humor was always a must in the film. Horror was a genre they all loved and appealed to their demographics. Their previous efforts together like 'See You In Shell' incorporate the love of films like John Hughes and horror-gone-wrong like 'Carrie'. Continuing their relationship with 'A Beary Scary Movie' Beasley was able to come up with a film that iwrestledabearonce didn't believe was possible.

Each member got a pivotal role with their own creative ideas able to be part of the film making process.

"Not since the release of Dokken’s 1987 song “Dream Warriors” has a metal band been able to fully incorporate their sound into a horror film."
